About the role

We are looking for an experienced and commercially minded Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join a growing organisation and play a key role in shaping its financial strategy and supporting its continued development.

Reporting to the CEO and working closely with the senior leadership team, the UK CFO will have overall responsibility for the financial management of the business, providing strategic financial leadership while ensuring strong financial controls, reporting and governance.

This is a broad CFO position suited to someone who combines strong technical financial expertise with commercial judgement and the ability to operate as a strategic business partner.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the company’s overall financial strategy in line with its business objectives.
• Take overall responsibility for financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow management.
• Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely management accounts, financial reports and analysis.
• Provide the CEO and senior leadership team with clear financial insight to support strategic and operational decision-making.
• Monitor business performance against budgets, forecasts and agreed financial targets.
• Ensure appropriate financial controls, processes and governance are in place and continuously improved.
• Oversee statutory accounts, tax, audit and other regulatory financial requirements.
• Manage relationships with external accountants, auditors, tax advisers, banks and other financial stakeholders.
• Identify financial risks and opportunities and provide recommendations to the leadership team.
• Support commercial decision-making, including investment, pricing, cost management and business development initiatives.
• Lead and develop the finance function, including establishing appropriate structures, systems and processes as the business grows.
• Ensure effective cash management and working-capital optimisation.
• Provide financial modelling and scenario analysis for key business decisions.
• Support any future M&A, fundraising, investment, restructuring or other strategic corporate activity, where relevant.
• Ensure the business has appropriate financial information, systems and reporting infrastructure to support future growth.

The successful candidate is likely to have:

• Significant senior finance experience, ideally at CFO, Finance Director or equivalent level.
• A recognised professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA or CIMA.
• Strong experience across financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow and financial controls.
• A strong commercial mindset and the ability to translate financial information into clear business recommendations.
• Experience working closely with CEOs, boards and senior stakeholders.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder-management skills.
• The ability to operate strategically while remaining comfortable getting involved in detail when required.
• Experience working in a growing or changing organisation would be advantageous.
• Excellent communication, Italian and English, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• High levels of integrity, discretion and professionalism.
