We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Finance / Head of Finance to join our team and lead our financial operations to new heights.

Please note your English must be fluent and you must have max 10 years experience in the industry. People with 20 + years’ experience are not suitable for this job. 

The Director of Finance / Head of Finance will be responsible for the overall financial health of the company. This role will oversee all financial activities, including financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, accounting, and compliance. The successful candidate will provide strategic financial insights to the executive team and drive financial initiatives that support the company’s growth and profitability goals. Additionally, this role will have the unique opportunity to build and oversee a brand new finance team and manage legal entities in multiple jurisdictions.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Strategy and Planning:
    • Develop and implement financial strategies to support the company’s strategic goals.
    • Oversee group accounting and local statutory needs in multiple jurisdictions, planning and cost management.
    • Provide financial/treasury forecasts and analysis to guide decision-making.
  2. Financial Operations:
    • Manage all accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
    • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in compliance with GAAP or IFRS standards.
    • Oversee cash flow management, investment strategies, and capital allocation.
  3. Leadership and Team Management:
    • Build, lead, mentor, and develop a brand new finance team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
    • Coordinate with other department heads to support company-wide initiatives.
    • Act as also “Head of office for the new Milan office”
  4. Compliance and Risk Management:
    • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards.
    • Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard the company’s assets.
    • Oversee risk management strategies.
    • Manage legal entities in multiple jurisdictions, ensuring compliance with local financial and tax regulations.
  5. Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Act as the primary liaison with external auditors, banks, and other financial institutions.
    • Prepare and present financial reports to CFO/CEO and other stakeholders.
  6. Strategic Initiatives:
    • Support M&A activities, including due diligence and integration processes.
    • Drive cost efficiency initiatives and identify opportunities for financial improvement.
    • Partner with the CEO and executive team on strategic projects and initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Big 4 training is seen as a significant asset
  • Proven experience in strategic planning, financial management, and team leadership.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, and financial regulations.
  • Experience managing legal entities in multiple jurisdictions.
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Superior communication and presentation abilities.
  • Proficient in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Fluency in English is a must; proficiency in any additional language is an asset.
