Position Summary
We are seeking a driven and ambitious leader ready to take the next step in their career. This role is ideal for a strong Director or Senior Business Development Leader looking to progress into a CEO-level position with real global impact.
We’re looking for someone with international BD experience, strong commercial acumen, and the ability to build high-level partnerships across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and the Americas. Experience in HSE, Energy, Industrial Services, or Construction is an advantage—but not essential for the right high-performing leader.
This is a highly operational leadership position requiring a hands-on approach. The successful candidate will bring a strong track record of driving international expansion, forging strategic partnerships, and opening new markets.
You will demonstrate agility, curiosity, and a deep willingness to understand the business in your first months. Regular international travel is expected.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Governance
- Oversee strategic decision-making, including resource allocation, major investments, and high-level operational planning.
- Lead and manage the executive team, promote a positive organisational culture, and ensure the company operates efficiently and effectively.
- Monitor and steer the company’s financial performance, ensuring profitability, sustainability, and long-term financial health.
- Serve as the primary representative of the company, engaging with the Board of Directors and acting as spokesperson in key forums.
- Identify and mitigate operational, financial, and reputational risks.
Global Business Development & Growth
- Develop and execute the global business development strategy aligned with corporate growth objectives.
- Identify, evaluate, and secure new business opportunities across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and the Americas.
- Build and cultivate relationships with senior stakeholders, clients, and partners in high-risk industries (Oil & Gas, Energy, Infrastructure, etc.).
- Lead negotiations for major contracts, joint ventures, partnerships, and strategic alliances.
- Work closely with internal teams (Operations, HSE Consulting, Training, Digital Solutions) to customise offerings that respond to market demands.
Market Intelligence & External Engagement
- Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and evolving regulatory frameworks to anticipate client needs.
- Represent the company at global industry events, conferences, and high-level client meetings.
- Mentor, develop, and scale the international Business Development team, fostering a high-performance, target-driven culture.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 15 years of international business development or strategic sales experience, ideally within HSE, Energy, or Industrial Services (strong candidates from adjacent industries will also be considered).
- Proven success in securing large-scale (multi-million-euro) contracts and expanding business across multiple regions.
- Strong commercial acumen and deep understanding of risk management, safety systems, and ESG principles.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Fluency in English is essential; additional languages such as French, Spanish, or Arabic are advantageous.
- Demonstrated leadership capability with experience developing and motivating high-performing teams.
- Willingness to travel extensively.
