In the last few years, the number of Italian young people who have decided to move to London or to the United Kingdom in search of a job has risen substantially. The official estimates from the Italian Consulate indicate that over 500,000 Italians are now present in the British capital.
To make the start to a new life abroad less complicated, on January 2014, the Italian Consulate in London decided to launch a project called Primo Approdo (First Landing). This initiative is symbolically dedicated to the memory of Joele Leotta, a young Italian man murdered in Kent in October 2013.
Primo Approdo main objective is to providing general instructions and advice to newly immigrated Italians under the age of 35 to stay, work and live in the British capital. The meetings, with restricted access, are open to a maximum of 50 participants; their topics focus on job, home, school, medical assistance, social security and legal advice.
Teresa Pastena – Founder of CV&Coffee – intervenes on a voluntary basis to provide useful tips on how to find a job, write a CV and cover letter and she offers other useful information for those who are taking their first steps in the British job market.
The workshop is free of charge.
